Files and formats
Uploading and storage
Attach files in chat or from the Storage page. Small files upload through the app; larger files (over ~4.5 MB) upload directly from your browser to storage, and very large files use a streaming integrity check. Per-plan size limits apply.
Formats, preview and reading
Coordio's Supported file types reference lists every format with its size limit, preview and reading support:
- Preview in the media viewer: images, audio, video, PDF, Word, spreadsheets, HTML and MHTML (including zipped), plain text, Markdown, JSON, CSV, YAML, XML, and EPUB / FB2 e-books.
- Reading aloud (text-to-speech): text-like formats can be read via Settings → Reading Mode.
- Archives (ZIP, RAR) and any other file can always be downloaded.
Cross-user dedup
Identical files are stored once. If the same file already exists (matched by content hash), yours is deduplicated — saving traffic and storage. The app warns you before a deletion that would affect a shared copy.
Local folders (your disk)
On Chromium browsers (Chrome, Edge) you can link a local folder via the File System Access API and Save locally any file. The app keeps a reference, not a second cloud copy, and removing a local folder never deletes files from disk. Firefox and Safari don't support this yet.
Encrypted local copies
With the secure vault unlocked, "Save locally" can write an encrypted copy (.coordio-enc) to disk that is decryptable only inside Coordio with your vault password.
